Taming of the Shrew

Not really a shrew, more my hair. It's a giant black mass of curls that do what they want when they want to do it. The problem with that is that I'm hot under 80 pounds of hair. Befor eNight of Joy, I asked if a friend's daughter would french braid my hair. I didn't want to walk around all night sewating under all my hair. Instead, I walked around sweating but not under my hair. And let me tell you, it takes a village to tame this mess.

I think S was thinking she needed more hands.
Look at the braid, then look across at the mass of hair waiting to be done. Can you imagine? Honey, I live with it every day.

This is the work in progress. It felt so good, and it didn't sit on the back of neck all night. She did a great job and I am ever so grateful.

The big girl got her hair done, too. We were both glad that we did. Poor thing has THICK hair like her mama, it's just not as dark or curly. We got tons of compliments as well. It made a great night just that much better.
Have a great day.

Is the braid STILL in? If I were a hairdresser and saw you coming, I would resign. It's beautiful as always, but you're right. . .definitely takes a village. Love you!!

now you know why I tricked you into telling you I was just going to cut your bangs and cut all your hair. Actually it was a bald face lie, which I didn't realize back then would stay with me forever. But now maybe do you understand a little bit??? and that was when you were in what? the first or second grade? You had the most beautiful little face then, you still do, but it was soooo little and CUTE. You wore the hood of your jacket all day at school the next day which was a Friday. Guess you had gotten used to the idea by Monday. Please forgive!!!

@Big Sis- I have had people walk away from cutting my hair when I let it out of the scrunchie or clip or whatever I have my up with. I was glad, too. If you aren't comfortable cutting my hair, then i'm glad you moved away.

@Mermie- I don't remember you telling me you were going to cut my bangs, I just remember wearing my hood all day. All is forgiven.
